Broken Footpaths Aren’t Normal. India Needs to Fix This.
Broken footpaths are more than an inconvenience. They can make everyday journeys unsafe, inaccessible and difficult for pedestrians, especially older people and persons with disabilities.
After living in India for nine years, Caleb Friesen began documenting damaged footpaths and poor pedestrian infrastructure through his videos. His goal isn’t to fix every footpath himself, but to raise awareness, spark public conversations and encourage authorities to take action.
By highlighting neglected public spaces, he hopes to inspire citizens, organisations and governments to work towards better urban infrastructure.
Caleb believes that speaking up is the first step towards change. When these videos help authorities identify places that need urgent attention, social media can become more than a platform for criticism. It can become a tool for civic action.
